For Homeowners
Free to use on the Free plan. You pay only a small fee on the milestone amount until you approve the work — always shown up front.
For Contractors
A 0.75–3.5% platform fee, withheld from each payment to you. Your rate is set by the size of the whole project, so larger projects pay a lower rate on every payment. No lead fees.

Why TrustConstruct

The milestone amount sits in a transaction balance the payment processor controls until each step is done. Released only when you approve.

Check every contractor's license against state licensing records. A workmanship warranty ships with every project.

Contractors pay $0 per lead. Keep your bids. We only earn when work is completed.

If something goes wrong, open a dispute. Both sides upload evidence. TrustConstruct opens a case and manages it. No lawyers needed.

How It Works
Plain-English answers about money, protection, and getting paid — for everyone on the platform.
Angi and Thumbtack sell leads — they charge contractors for leads, with no payment protection. TrustConstruct is a full platform: marketplace, processor-secured payments, milestone tracking, contractor license verification, and dispute resolution — all in one.
No hidden fees. Homeowners can start on a Free plan ($0), with optional Pro ($39/mo) and Business ($99/mo) plans that unlock more active projects and advanced features. Contractors pay no lead fees — just a small platform fee on completed projects. Standard payment processing fees from the third-party payment provider also apply (cheaper if the homeowner pays by bank transfer).
Any residential construction or renovation project — kitchen remodels, bathroom renovations, room additions, roofing, painting, landscaping, full home renovations, and more. We also support general contractors who hire sub-contractors through the platform.
Yes. The TrustConstruct mobile app (iOS + Android) gives both homeowners and contractors full access to projects, milestones, chat, photos, estimates, and payments — everything the web platform does, on the go.
How your money is protected, every step of the way.
Your milestone amount sits in a transaction balance the payment processor controls, not TrustConstruct and not the contractor. It is released only when you approve a completed milestone. If something goes wrong, TrustConstruct opens a case, both sides upload evidence, and the milestone does not advance while it is open. TrustConstruct is not a bank, lender, or escrow agent and does not hold customer funds. Payment services are provided by an independent third-party payment provider, subject to its terms and state availability.
You only fund the next two milestones at a time, not the whole project upfront. After you accept a milestone as complete, the next one rolls into the funded window. This way you never have more funds sitting with the payment processor than the work that's about to be done.
You always have the right to reject a milestone if it doesn't meet the agreed scope. The milestone amount sits in a transaction balance the payment processor controls. If a dispute arises, our resolution process kicks in: independent review, evidence on both sides, fair outcome. Nothing is released without your approval.
Yes — and we recommend it. Paying by bank transfer (ACH) costs much less in processing fees than a credit card. On a $10,000 milestone, ACH costs about $5 vs roughly $290 for a card. The choice is yours at checkout.
Signing up is quick and free — post a project or search contractors, review bids, and agree on a written scope and milestones. Once you accept a bid and sign the agreement, work can start as soon as the first milestone is funded.
Get real projects. Get paid on time.
When a homeowner approves a completed milestone, the third-party payment processor transfers the funds to your bank account. No chasing checks, no 30-60 day waits, no calls about overdue invoices.
You don't need any existing payment processor account. During onboarding, TrustConstruct creates an account for you with our third-party payment processor in just a few minutes — the processor handles the verification of your identity and bank details. After that, payouts run automatically.
Once a milestone is approved by the client, funds typically land in your bank account within 2-7 business days, depending on the third-party payment processor's standard payout schedule for your country and account history. New accounts may have slightly longer holds at first.
Yes. The third-party payment processor automatically generates the applicable 1099 tax form at year-end for any account that meets the IRS reporting threshold. You'll receive it electronically through the processor's dashboard. We don't withhold taxes — that's your responsibility, but the paperwork is handled for you.
No lead fees, ever. Contractors pay only a small platform fee on completed projects — no subscription required to get hired, and no charge for browsing projects, submitting bids, or chatting with clients. Homeowners start on a Free plan, with optional Pro ($39/mo) and Business ($99/mo) subscriptions for more projects and advanced features.
You upload your contractor license, insurance, and any specialty certifications during onboarding. Our admin team verifies them. For regulated specialties (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.), bidding is gated until your license is verified — this protects both you and the client.
Working under a General Contractor on TrustConstruct.
A General Contractor can invite you to a project as a sub-contractor. You get your own milestone schedule with the GC, your own milestone payment protection through the third-party payment processor, and your own automatic payouts. Your relationship is with the GC — the homeowner doesn't see your portion.
No. You only see the price agreed between you and the General Contractor. The GC's margin between what the client pays and what you receive is private. This is standard practice in the trades and protects business relationships on both sides.
